Antonio R. Montesinos (eventos): Inopias - Veränderung des Maßstabes. Spekulative Modelle

The opening of the exhibition “Inopias - Veränderung des Maßstabes. Spekulative Modelle" (Inopias – Change of scale. Speculative models) will take place on Monday 13th October at 7 pm at the Internationalen Künstlerhauses Villa Concordia (Bamberg).

This exhibition aims to go through the project Inopias, started by Antonio R Montesinos in 2012, which he is currently finishing at Villa Concordia. The exhibition offers the possibility to see some of the photographs from the series Inopias, several drawings from the series Igual Medida, the zine Afinidad Visual Operatoria as well as an installation of large proportions which is being built as a site-specific project from materials found both in the building and the streets of Bamberg. Furthermore, a text about the project written by Lorenzo Sandoval will also be presented on the opening day (english text - german text)

The series Igual medida keeps working on the idea of improvised construction from a pre-determined perspective. Here, these concepts are applied to the drawing and therefore the artist employs isometric stencils in order to improvise on them drawings of fictional constructions. Every drawing intends to be an exercise of freedom defying the perspective itself as a way of representation of reality from a particular point of view. One of the characteristics of isometric perspective is that, despite the location, the perception of the represented subject does not change. Given that there are not vanishing points, it allows endless points of view.

Last, but not least the zine Afinidad Visual Operatoria will also be presented. It compiles a part of the process of research of the project. It consists of a collection of diverse images under the form of a self-published zine. This publication, based on the methodology used by Aby Warburg in the montage and comparison of the varied images in order to find new narratives, gathers different urban patterns, ways of organizing the space and technical solutions deduced from the creative course of Inopias in the shape of a lateral and divergent thinking.

El próximo lunes 13 de octubre, a las 19:00h, se inaugura la exposición "Inopias - Veränderung des Maßstabes. Spekulative Modelle" (Inopias - Cambio de escala. Modelos especulativos) en la Internationalen Künstlerhauses Villa Concordia (Bamberg).   En esta exhibición se pretende hacer un recorrido por la proyecto Inopias, que Antonio R Montesinos comenzó el año 2012 y que está finalizando este año en Villa Concordia. En la exposición se verán algunas de las fotografías de la serie Inopias, algunos dibujos de la serie Igual Medida, el zine Afinidad Visual Operatoria y una instalación de grandes dimensiones que está produciendo como proyecto site-specific a partir de materiales encontrados, tanto en el edificio como en las calles de la ciudad de Bamberg. El día de la inauguración se presentará también un texto sobre el proyecto escrito por Lorenzo Sandoval (texto en inglés - texto en alemán).

En la serie Igual medida se continua trabajando sobre la idea de construcción improvisada a partir de una perspectiva fijada de antemano. En esta ocasión estos conceptos son aplicados al dibujo. De esta manera el artista utiliza plantillas de perspectiva isométrica para improvisar sobre ellas dibujos de construcciones ficticias. Cada dibujo pretende constituir un ejercicio de libertad que desafía el propio ejercicio de la perspectiva como estrategia de representación de la realidad de un punto de vista único. Una de las características de la perspectiva isométrica es que, nos situemos donde nos situemos, la vista de lo representado no varía. Al no haber puntos de fuga ofrece infinitos puntos de vista.

Por último se presenta también el zine Afinidad Visual Operatoria. Que recoge parte del proceso de investigación del proyecto. Se trata de una colección de imágenes heterogéneas en forma de zine auto-editado. Esta publicación, basada en la metodología usada por Aby Warburg que utilizaba en el montaje y comparación de imágenes heterogéneas para encontrar nuevas narrativa, reúne diferentes patrones urbanos, formas de organizar el espacio y soluciones técnicas que han surgido en transcurso creativo de Inopias al modo de un pensamiento lateral y divergente.
